Summit® 18” Black ADA Compliant Ductless Retractable Under Cabinet Range Hood

Model HRTX18BADA is an 18" wide range hood in a glossy black powder-coated finish. The retractable design and 4" height create a low profile, minimalist look that seamlessly blends into your kitchen when not in use. For maximum surface coverage, the retractable hood slides out as needed. Two oversized aluminum mesh filters with a carbon layer absorb grease, smoke, and cooking odors. This hood is equipped with two pre-installed LED light bulbs that provide convenient illumination over your cooking surface. We include a remote terminal block and wall switch cover to allow the controls to be installed separately from the hood and at a lower, accessible height in accordance with ADA guidelines.

Unlike traditional ductless ventilation, our retractable hood is not convertible: it's exclusively designed, constructed, and rigorously tested for ductless applications where there is no access to outside venting. Instead of blocking airflow with a simple baffle, the Summit engineering team has created a quieter, more efficient system with smarter technology. It utilizes a cross-flow fan to rotate horizontally, redirecting air smoothly out of the front louvers set at a slight upwards angle to ensure smoke and odors won't be directed towards the user. This maintains laminar airflow, avoiding back pressure and minimizing the noise found in converted range hoods that use axial fans. Though it operates at a lower CFM, its effective airflow outperforms traditional axial fans with a more efficient, quiet performance.

This range hood ships without a power cord and is designed to be hard-wired by a licensed professional. Additional colors and sizes are available, as well as convertible and ducted range hoods. Explore the full collection to find the perfect ventilation system for your kitchen.

18" Wide ADA Compliant Retractable Recirculating Range Hood

Slim-fitting low profile range designed for installation in compliance with the ADA guidelines

Retractable filter blends in seamlessly with cabinetry when not in use for an elevated kitchen look

One of the slimmest under-cabinet hoods in the market, creating a minimalist look that takes up less vertical space than the competition

The industry's first range hood specifically made for efficient filtration in recirculating applications with no access to exterior ducting

Designed and manufactured by Summit in the USA, complete with American steel for lasting durability

Improved Filtration with Smoother Airflow

Unique cross-flow fan moves up to 40% more air through the filters than standard hoods converted to recirculating mode

Angled Airflow Keeps Smoke Away from User

Vents are set at a slight upwards angle, ensuring smoke and odors won't be directed towards the home cook

Quality Construction for Long-lasting Use

Metal ball-bearing glides, innovative cross-flow fan, and steel materials to ensure efficient use for years of reliable ventilation

High and low setting to accommodate heavy and light levels of cooking activity

Efficient and attractive illumination over your cooking surface

Hood is wired to run off a wall switch for improved accessibility, with a remote terminal block included

8x the Filtration Area of Standard Convertible Hoods

Two oversized combination aluminum filters with carbon strips cover your full cooking surface to remove more smoke and odors

Filters can be removed by user for replacements as needed. See HRTXFILTERSET accessory

Front-located on/off and high/low rocker switches make it easy to manage the light and fan

Cross-flow fan reduces noise to operate quietly under 60 dB

Glossy jet black finish in powder-coated steel

Sized for use over slim cooking surfaces (additional sizes available)

Designed to be hard-wired by a licensed professional; units with pre-installed power cords also available

Made in the USA, Summit brings new innovation to accessible small kitchens with the industry's first retractable range hood designed and engineered for recirculating use. The ADA compliant series can be installed in compliance with Section 308 and 309 of the ADA Guidelines.
